Software & systems engineering

From the first ideato the end user.

Vector Engineering designs and builds automotive software, web applications and native mobile apps — one engineering team, accountable for everything in between.

What we engineer

Six disciplines under one roof — so the software inside a machine and the apps people use every day are designed to work together from the start.

  • 01

    Automotive software

Diagnostic and calibration tooling, vehicle communication and data analysis — for passenger cars, trucks, and agricultural and construction machinery.

    • CAN
    • J1939
    • UDS
    • OBD-II
    • RP1210
  • 02

    Web applications

Customer portals, SaaS platforms, admin tools and APIs — secure, fast, and built to be maintained for years, not months.

    • Laravel
    • Vue
    • TypeScript
    • Python
    • REST APIs
  • 03

    Android & iOS apps

Native mobile apps, including Bluetooth and vehicle-connected ones — from the first prototype to the store release and beyond.

    • Kotlin
    • Swift
    • Bluetooth LE
    • Offline-first
  • 04

    Embedded & hardware

Firmware and hardware integration: ESP32-based devices, CAN gateways, vehicle interfaces and test benches.

    • C / C++
    • ESP32
    • CAN hardware
    • Test benches
  • 05

    Desktop & engineering tools

Windows software for engineers and workshops — data logging, measurement analysis, file processing and diagnostic utilities.

    • Python
    • Qt
    • Windows
    • Data visualisation
  • 06

    Automation & AI

Process automation, data pipelines and AI-assisted workflows that take repetitive work off your team’s plate.

    • Python
    • n8n
    • LLM integration
    • Data pipelines

One team. Every layer.

Connected-vehicle projects tend to stall at the boundaries — between the hardware team and the app team, between the firmware and the API. We work across all of them, so data from a vehicle bus reaches your customer’s screen without getting lost in translation.

One point of contact. One engineering standard. One team responsible for the result.

How a project moves

Clear steps, visible progress — and the riskiest part proven first.

  1. Discover

We start with your problem, your users and your constraints — hardware, protocols, deadlines — and agree on a clear scope.

  2. Prototype

We prove the hardest part first: the protocol, the integration or the core workflow, with working software instead of slides.

  3. Build

Iterative delivery with regular demos, tested on real vehicles, devices and data along the way.

  4. Ship & support

Release, deployment and store submission — followed by monitoring, maintenance and long-term support.

An engineering company, first.

Vector Engineering is an independent software and systems engineering company based in Hungary, working with clients around the world.

We work with workshops, automotive and machinery businesses, and companies that need software to hold up in the real world. Alongside client work, we build and operate products of our own.

A vector is defined by direction and magnitude. We bring both to every project: a clear direction, and the engineering to cover the distance.

  • Direct access to engineers

No layers of account managers. You talk to the people who design the system and write the code.

  • Proven on real hardware

We validate on actual vehicles, control units and devices — not just in simulators.

  • Built to be maintained

Clean architecture, documentation and handover-ready code. Software should outlive its first release.

  • We run what we build

Operating our own products keeps us honest about what production-ready really means.

Have a project in mind?

Tell us briefly what you are building — a vehicle integration, a platform, an app, or all three. We will get back to you with questions and next steps.
